Start With Your Weapon's Attack Pattern
Choose a weapon whose attacks you enjoy, develop its weapon mastery, and pair it with armor that supports your preferred balance of protection and movement. Add an active class for its skills, then refine the combination with attributes and inherited skills as those options open up.
Compare Swords, Bows, Knuckles and Magic Staves
| Weapon | Details |
|---|---|
| Swords | Blade Swing and Opposing Slash are close-range attacks. Spinning Slash adds a circular sword attack, while Precision Rush delivers repeated strikes with increased critical chance. The sword mastery tree also includes critical and bleed bonuses. |
| Bows | Quick Shot attacks at range, while Preparation improves the next shot's damage and critical chance. Charged Shot increases shot damage. Multiple Shot sends arrows in the same direction, while Split Shot spreads them in different directions. |
| Knuckles | Quick Jab and Heavy Kick keep you fighting up close. Roundhouse Combo can knock enemies back, Palm Strike can stun, and Comet Fist delivers repeated strikes. These attacks give you a close-range approach with opportunities to disrupt enemies. |
| Magic Staves | Staff Swing is a melee attack, and Arcane Bolt is a ranged attack that consumes Kymia. Energize Swing restores some Kymia through a magic-infused strike. Arcane Wave knocks enemies back, giving the staff both melee and ranged options. |
For swords, consider medium armor's critical bonuses alongside the sword tree's critical and bleed effects. For staves, light armor's Kymia recovery offers a resource-focused direction to explore. Try those pairings if they suit your attacks, then judge how comfortably you can keep fighting and repositioning.
Choose Armor for Its Bonuses and Dodge Upgrade
Armor mastery progresses separately from your weapon and class. Heavier armor trades movement speed for protection, so check how your character moves when you change equipment. Plan toward the mastery skill you want as well as the defenses on the gear itself.
| Armor | Details |
|---|---|
| Medium armor | Offers defense and critical bonuses. Once Roll is learned, equipping three pieces of medium armor replaces the dash with a faster roll that covers more distance. |
| Heavy armor | Offers defense and block bonuses. Once Tackle is learned, equipping three pieces of heavy armor replaces the dash with an evasion move that hits enemies along its path. |
| Light armor | Offers defense and Kymia recovery bonuses. Once Blink is learned, equipping three pieces of light armor replaces the dash with a short teleport. |
Add Wanderer Skills, Then Plan Your Inheritance
Wanderer offers Focus Strike, a forward punch that deals increased damage, and Swift Foot, which increases movement speed while active. Swift Foot also reduces maximum Kymia while its effect is active. Consider that trade when pairing extra movement with a staff's resource needs.
Keep the class you want to develop active: classes level independently, and class skill points belong to their own class. Once inheritance slots become available, eligible skills can be used in another class, but an inherited skill must be available and active in its class of origin. Swift Foot is an example of a Wanderer skill you can eventually bring into another class to retain its movement benefit.
Match Attributes to Damage, Resources or Survival
Check the attribute tooltips against your equipped weapon before spending points. Dexterity supports bow damage, attack rate and dodge chance. Strength improves damage with Strength-based weapons, critical damage and block amount.
Wisdom improves your Kymia capacity, regeneration and effect resistances, making it worth considering when resources limit your skills. Stamina increases health and defense, while Luck improves critical chance, counterattack chance, block chance, and the chance and quality of drops. Choose the benefit your current setup needs rather than following a fixed attribute split.

Carry Your Demo Build Forward
Use the updated demo when comparing builds: patches fixed attack-rate calculations and Palm Strike's guaranteed-stun bug. Treat Palm Strike as a chance to stun when planning your knuckle attacks. Test whether the combination works for you without relying on every hit stopping the enemy.
