How learned skills become available for inheritance
Learn an eligible skill in its original class, then select it through an unlocked inheritance slot to use it with a different active class. The ability must be available and active in its class of origin before you can select it for inheritance.
Wanderer's Swift Foot is a useful example: you learn its movement-speed ability, then carry that effect into another class once an inheritance slot becomes available. Learning the skill and unlocking the slot are separate requirements. Your class progression supplies the ability, while your overall character progression opens the inheritance slot.
Learn Swift Foot and carry it into another class

Check that Swift Foot is available and active in Wanderer. A skill must meet that condition in its class of origin before you can select it for inheritance.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
Tell class skills, inherited skills and masteries apart
Use the class tree to see what a class has learned with its own points, then check inheritance separately for abilities brought over from elsewhere. Changing your active class does not automatically develop the other classes or make every learned skill transferable. Active and passive inheritance slots also serve different kinds of abilities.
| Area | What it tells you |
|---|---|
| The active class's skill tree | Shows that class's learned abilities and the choices made with its own skill points. |
| Active-skill inheritance slots | Provide places for eligible active abilities learned in another class, once the slots are available. |
| Passive-skill inheritance slots | Provide places for eligible passive abilities from other learned classes; check their availability separately. |
| Weapon masteries | Develop through weapon use independently of class progression, letting you work on a weapon while playing Wanderer. |
Choose the Wanderer ability you want to keep
Make Swift Foot your inheritance goal if extra movement speed is the part of Wanderer you want to preserve when changing class. In Wanderer, activating Swift Foot reduces maximum kymia while its movement effect remains active. Try that trade-off before deciding how much you value the speed.
Stay with Wanderer for Focus Strike if you want its forward punch with increased damage. You can develop sword, bow, knuckle or staff mastery independently while keeping Wanderer active. That lets you try a different weapon setup before deciding whether another class is what you want.
Wanderer's other options give you more specific goals to compare. Explorer's Leap increases dash distance, while Lucky Charm improves luck while active. If either effect interests you, inspect the skill in Wanderer's tree and check its eligibility in the inheritance selection before planning a transfer.
Check these requirements when a skill is missing

Check the original class's skill setup. The ability needs to be available and active there before inheritance can offer it for selection.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
- Check your inheritance slots. Learning the ability does not replace the separate requirement to unlock a slot through character progression.

Check which class is active while you fight. If you are trying to develop Wanderer, playing another class will develop that class instead.Playing this video connects to YouTube.
If controller navigation is making the class menus difficult to use, update the demo before checking again. Demo patches fixed shoulder-button problems in menus and other controller navigation issues. Recheck your skill setup after updating.
Keep your public-demo progression for Early Access
Progress from the public Steam Next Fest Demo carries into Early Access. Saves from the Creator & Press Preview do not carry over. If you are developing a character in the public demo, you can continue that adventure in Early Access instead of planning around a fresh start.
